New Snow Leopard bug nukes your entire system
Supposedly.
According to a report on this Mac fanboi site, there is a new Apple Mac OS X Snow Leper bug that totally wipes out the data on unsuspecting hard drives.
This is very distressing.
Especially for an operating system touted - wrongly, IMO - as the best in the world.
As a public service, let me introduce Mac users to a new phrase: offline, portable backups.
Yes, portable hard drives.
Back in June of 2007, in this blog post, I asserted that Apple was innovating by blatantly copying Windows Vista, as borne out by the introduction of BSODs (blue screens of death) into Mac users lives.
Now, you can add data shredders to the list of former Windows faults currently copied by Apple.
BTW, I heartily recommend the Verbatim InSight hard drive series: always-on LCD displays, and a sleek design. For larger backups, use the Verbatim Quad-interface professional hard drives.
