Boeing jilts Seattle for $170 million
For state incentives worth $170 million USD, and the promise of a nonunion work force (at least initially), Boeing threw the Seattle suburb of Everett for a loop, and decided to move waay cross-country to the Land of the Appalachian Trail, South Carolina, for a new Boeing 787 assembly plant.
Personally, I hope the move works out, as anything to improve the fortunes of the Dreamliner aircraft is welcome.
At least this way, Sparky Sanford gets to exit stage left on a high note.
