4 ways to make HP Gabble more relevant
HP Gabble is an intriguing concept: video calls anywhere, using HP transportation and technology.
However, the implementation is less than optimal.
Four modifications to Gabble should mitigate that.
-
Move out of the browser. Right now, the requirement to open a browser page anytime one wants to use Gabble is a pain. I really, truly do not want to do that. Creating a desktop application would allow for a 1-click access to gabbling, my kind of speediness.
-
Use Silverlight. Using Silverlight/WPF would help create a lightweight application that would be immediately cross-platform – if that is your cup of tea. Especially since all versions of Windows would presumably ship with Silverlight going forward.
-
Create mobile apps for the iPhone, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Blackberry. Mobile versions of Gabble should be a must, with the iPhone being the number one platform targeted.
-
Use HP’s global PC shipments as a distribution avenue for the HP Gabble desktop client app. Simple.
