Gotta give these guys props for pedaling furiously trying to find the 'next big thing':
Unlike past gnats, they (Google) have powerful allies in the US DOJ's antitrust victory against MS, and in the EU Office of Competition.
Also, this company is nimble, and does not seem to suffer the arrogant, ostrich-like defensive moves of prior MS competitors.
- They have to find the next revenue stream,
- They can no longer fly under the rader as they did with search,
- They, by virture of their current mindshare, have a Microsoft Problem, and,
- Search will only become more competitive.
