HP in Healthcare–A series on HP at HIMSS 2011

At the HIMSS confab last month, HP, conjunction with several partners, demoed several products aimed at advancing the state of the art in healthcare in order to assist in reducing the heavy toll, monetary and physical, that our near-obsolete healthcare system foists on us.

As with last year at HIMSS, HP had themes showing what solutions are available.

In a series of posts over the next few weeks, I will be showcasing these solutions and bring you interviews with HP product managers and those same partners.

Specifically, I will be talking about

    • Parental Health’s MISTY, a touch-enabled solution
    • The Mobile PACS solution by Canvys & MedWeb
    • LifeBot’s Ambulance Care 2.0, and
    • Central Logic’s eponymous solution.

I also hope to be able to bring you reviews of hardware products that were displayed there. The devices we are enamored about are:

    • HP LD4200 Digital Signage Display
    • Vioguard self-sanitizing keyboard
    • HP ProBook 6550b
    • HP Slate 500
    • HP TouchSmart 9300

Healthcare is here to stay, and everything we can do to both streamline it, and deliver it securely and safely are good things.
