Even banks are getting into the assault on privacy games

Can you imagine your bank giving access to your statements to a marketing firm so that they can ‘do something extra’ for you: offer you highly-targeted coupons based on your buying habits.

I’ll stop here while you either catch your breath or shrug it away.

If it means nothing to you, good for you.

For the rest of us, I cannot imagine why this isn’t in violation of several state or federal privacy laws.

The level of intrusion far outweighs the benefits, in my opinion.

Hopefully, cooler heads prevail, and this nonsense is forced by law to be an explicit opt-in process.
