AbsolutelyWindows Products in Use Page Updated

We have updated our Products In Use page for the products here at AbsolutelyWindows/SmallBizWindows to reflect the new, retiring, or retired products in our review pipeline.

As usual, hardware is dominated by HP, while software remains a Microsoft world. CradlePoint, an innovative company, is still our favorite in consumer/small business routing, and is reflected here.

Going forward, look forward to seeing more systems by Lenovo here as they have started to actively compete with HP in the SMB desktop category, and are determined to knock HP off our radar.

In software, we have the good fortune to have the entire lineup of Raxco PerfectDisk products running on all our systems.

As we move to converge the datacenter and move upstream, storage, virtualization, and networking would start to take on increasing importance. As a result, expect to see more products from HP Networking, HP StorageWorks, Data Robotics, and Lenovo become more prominent. We will be validating more companies/brands as we go along.

Unfortunately, we no longer have a relationship with Dell, and as a result, we are retiring all products by that company in our inventory. Until there is a change there, we do not foresee – barring an express customer request – a need to reverse our position. Our sole Sun device, the trusty Sun 24 is slated for mothballs, and we may be doing the say with the Cisco routing and access point devices here as well.

In all, the future looks bright.
