Lazarus finally bites the dust.
For the past few years, SCO has been Lazarus. You know, the company that just wouldn’t die.
And I have loved it that way.
It has been a thorn in the sides of the freetards – as opposed to the level-headed users and developers of Linux, such as my commenter here, Will. The fact that their cries were ignored by most jurists was gleeful to Yours Truly.
And I have loved it that way.
In several posts, I noted the vagaries in the case, and rejoiced.
And I have loved it that way.
In fact, I have seen Linux lovers become more and more dejected, and increasingly apoplectic each passing week as their chants of Die, Die Die, are rejected by the computing gods.
And I have loved it that way.
When the jury in the case returned that devastating verdict, I was saddened, but resolved for intervention by a higher authority, in this case, SCOTUS. However, that didn’t happen.
To crown it all, Darl McBride – yes, that Darl McBride! - was unceremoniously fired by SCO in October of last year! I lamented that development here.
Watching SCO circle the drain all these years ahs been thrilling, with the company lurching from one judicial defeat to another while titillating us, me especially, with the thoughts of a world where the rabid freetard Linuxheads would be defanged, and quieted.
Now, that is not going to happen.
Sad, sad!
I believe I am more upset at the loss of further communiqués coming from SCO describing the fictional events in their galaxy which, of course have no basis in fact here on Earth. I guess that I am going to have to make do with the new Baghdad Bob: British Petroleum. BP’s handling of their devastation of the Gulf of Mexico will be in the annals of infamy for ever. Those rat-bastards!
Now, everyone is piling on! For example here and here.
Very sad.
Ladies and gentlemen: therein lies SCO, the Lazarus of computing comedy.
R.I.P., SCO
