…in just 100 days!
In a situation that should be a b-school study in how the iconic leader should always win in spite of lesser first-movers and with an innovative product, Microsoft Office 2010 web apps has been downloaded and used 20 million times in the 100 days since it was released.
I, for one, am not surprised.
For the pretenders and arrivistes who would lay (a false) claim to the throne of Microsoft Office have always been found wanting, especially once the deceptive and dishonest fog of ‘free’ lifts from the melons of the brainwashed.
Listen, there isn’t any way around it: the trillions of documents created by Microsoft Office will not vanish overnight. Furthermore, about as important, the desire, no, the need to have those same documents displayed, read, and reproduced in perfect fidelity with the original requires that Microsoft Office be present.
So, if you went ahead with the exhortations of a simpleton hawking some supposedly free open source solution, and committed your company to a “Microsoft Office clone”, its your fault.
However, it is not to late to recover, and save yourself the hassle, abd the money involved in such a boneheaded decision.
