This is getting tedious!
Every year, HP workstations walk off with either the Workstation of the Year award, or best overall product. Where are their supposed competitors? Why can’t they compete?
This year, the HP z800 Personal Workstation is our Workstation of the year.
For this year, the z800 is now available with up to two of the new hexacore Intel Xeon x5680s, Nvidia Quadro FX5800s, and the Nvidia Tesla c2050 graphics computing solutions.
I also believe that the z800 is the only workstation out there with a factory-spec liquid cooling system; this, in addition to the mungo cool custom power supply in the system.
We previously reviewed the z800 – then with dual quad-core Xeons – here.
We currently have a z800 with the current specs at The Orbiting O’Odua for review:
- Dual 3.3 GHz hexacore Intel Xeon x5680
- 48 GB RAM
- Nvidia Quadro FX5800; 4GB GDDR5 RAM
- Nvidia Tesla c2050; 4GB GDDR5 RAM
- 160 GB SSD boot drive
- HP Liquid Cooling module
- Dual, mirrored 1 TB hard drive
I’ll let you know how it goes….
