Psst! Would you like some malware with that illegal torrent download?
Microsoft researchers, in analyzing data, have found out that illegal downloads from torrents have become a particularly effective malware distribution channel
In the current issue of the Microsoft Security Intelligence Report, Jeff Williams, the group program manager for the malware protection products at Microsoft, disclosed that the data they analyzed has shown a direct link between malware, and illegally downloaded software.
The problem is of nearly endemic to those countries where there are little or no legal barriers to software piracy, such as China, Brazil, and France, with Brazil having over four times thr global tares of infection!
So, again I ask: would you like some malware with that torrent download?
