Swiss canton of Solothurn rejects Linux

In a repudiation (refudiation?) of the current the current operating system zeitgeist in Switzerland, the Swiss canton of Solothurn has rejected Linux in favor of Microsoft Windows 7.

Reversing a decision that has been in place since around 2001, Solothurn Canton renounced their diet of Debian, which was flanked by OpenOffice, Scalix, Firefox, and several KDE desktop shells.

Remarkable, on the one hand because they are rejecting ‘free’ products for commercial applications.

On the other hand, props should be given to them for realizing Linux was a dud for their needs, and not hesitating to pull the plug on that dellitante operating system once it dawned on them that Linux wasn’t cutting/going to do it for them.

In their choice of Windows7, they are now blessed with, in my opinion, the best OS in the Milky Way
