I tried the Skyfire browser back when it was in beta.
I didn’t like it then, and quickly discarded it.
Yesterday, I decided to give it another chance.
Same results.
I downloaded the latest bits, and installed it on the LG eXpo.
First portend of things to come: at first use, for the very first time on this very capable smartphone, the LG multitasking applet asked me to shut down one of the running apps. And promptly froze!
I had to do a battery-removal reset.
Trying to replicate the error, I loaded the same apps that were running prior to the STOP event, and started IE mobile. No issue.
I restarted Skyfire and, it generated the same fault.
Reset the eXpo, and without running any other apps, started Skyfire. It worked.
Next issue: you cannot set a personal start page.
Furthermore, you have to create an account to make changes to the home page!
On what planet is that, you know, a good thing?
Then I tried to connect to this blog.
The woeful browser would NOT load AbsolutelyWindows!!!
Erh, Fail!
I have deleted the browser from my smartphone.
If only I could delete my extremely bad experience with it from my consciousness!
