New features delivered for Office Web Apps

It is good to see that Microsoft is enhancing the utility of Office Web Apps, this time with a nice number of improvements in the September 2011 updates.

Among the numerous improvements are

  • OneNote Web App Ink display
  • Merge and Auto-fit cells in Excel Web App
  • Print directly from Excel Web App in the browser
  • Right-click menus in Excel Web App
  • Other improvements to make the Web Apps faster and more reliable

Over a short period of time, Office Web Apps have become a free, and invaluable productivity resource, and one that I use frequently.

I only wish I could use them on the HP TouchPad and the iPad.
